We are broadly Methodist in style and doctrine, though have a membership made up of people from various traditions, who feel quite at home in our lively worship and family orientated ethos.

Our motto correctly reveals our evangelical emphasis, on living out the preaching of the gospel with Christ at the centre.  We look to the Holy Spirit to be at work in us and through us.

In worship we try to be open to the Holy Spirit, responsive and flexible to how He leads us, speaks to us and makes His power known. Regular prayer and ministry are offered as we believe the Holy Spirit is present to heal, help, and renew us.  Each member is a minister of his grace and is encouraged to use the gifts He gives to encourage the whole body.

Worship is a mix of traditional and contemporary music ministry led by a team of people including the Worship Leader, Organist, Worship Band, Minister and Local Preachers. Music plays a big part of our worshipping life with a gifted group of musicians and song writers, as well as The North Shropshire Methodist Youth Choir who occasionally take part in worship, and regularly visit other churches to lead worship.

Weekly activities cater for all ages from the very youngest to the oldest, including care and support groups for visually impaired, and stroke victims. A full time youth worker leads the youth ministry to our own young people, and in outreach to young people in the area.

MDMC is part of ‘ARK’ (Advancing & Equipping the Kingdom), a Network of churches and groups sharing a similar ethos, and commitment to the Evangelical Doctrinal Standards of the Methodist Church.  ARK exists mainly though not exclusively within the Chester & Stoke on Trent District of the Methodist Church.

Mission and outreach are the primary aims of ARK, and throughout the year Celebration Worship events, and training days offered through ARK, give mutual encouragement and support in our mission as a church.

Our vision looks outward to the world in our Romania Link Project where support is given to vulnerable people in Central Romania through our links with the church there. We have recently entered into a formal partnership agreement with a church in which we seek to encourage and support each other in our respective ministries. We also support Methodist World Church initiatives, and the Methodist Church work here in Britain.

We believe that the only hope for the nation and the world is Christ. Therefore we proclaim Christ crucified, risen, and ascended, Lord of all.
